The Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (Domestic RHI) is a government financial incentive to promote the use of renewable heat. Switching to heating systems that use naturally replenished energy can help the UK reduce its carbon emissions. People who join the scheme and stick to its rules, receive quarterly payments for seven years for the amount of clean, green renewable heat their system produces.
How the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) can help you
The Domestic RHI launched on 9th April 2014 and is the world's first long-term financial support programme for renewable heat. Domestic users can now receive payments for renewable energy generated by use of the following technologies:
The domestic RHI will pay the following tariffs per unit of heat generated for seven years:
|Air Source Heat Pumps||7.3p/kWh|
|Ground and water-source heat pumps||18.8p/kWh|
|Biomass-only boilers and biomass pellet stoves with integrated boilers||12.2p/kWh|
|Solar thermal panels (flat plate and evacuated tube for hot water only)||19.2p/kWh|
Heat Pump Sussex in partnership with OHM Energy offer full guidance and support on the whole installation process.
