Energy Saving Trust
The Energy Saving Trust is trusted by consumers for independent and impartial advice on saving energy and money in Sussex and the rest of the UK.
About The Energy Saving Trust
Energy users in Sussex and the rest of the UK are changing their habits and so are The Energy Saving Trust. They are to become a social enterprise and are seeking charitable status.
The aim is to establish a charitable parent company which will look after a non-profit organisation tasked with delivery of government-funded programmes. The move is driven by opportunities presented by the Green Deal.
The Green Deal
The Green Deal follows the Energy Bill introduced in Parliament in December 2010 and is intended to revolutionise the energy efficiency of homes and businesses in the UK. The Government is establishing a framework to enable private firms such as Heat Pump Sussex to offer consumers energy efficiency improvements to their homes and businesses. The aim is to recoup payments through a charge in instalments on the energy bill with no upfront cost.
The mission of The Energy Saving Trust is to find the best ways to change people’s behaviour and to introduce energy-saving measures into homes. They do this by providing expert insight and knowledge about energy saving, supporting people to take action, working with business, government, local authorities and others to drive improvements in the energy-saving market, and by providing quality assurance for goods, services and installers.
